Apparently Godzilla is alive and well and residing in our dog house in the backyard. I spent a good part of Sunday morning clearing out our little used dog run and dog house. Since Indiana can't seem to stop from eating anything and everything she sees on the ground outside then our temporary solution will be to keep her confined to the dog run while we are all out of the house.
For a while now Maggie has refused to use the dog house, even in the rain. I just assumed she no longer liked to be confined in there and left it at that. So Sunday when I was sweeping out the dog run and making sure there was nothing that Indiana could possibly ingest I decided that I might as well move the dog house from the corner and hose it out. Lo' and behold the biggest friggin' lizard I have ever seen in my life comes lumbering (it was too large to scamper) out of the dog house. Holy cow! In that moment I discovered that I can still scream like a little girl and run away. It occurred to me that I should go out and take a picture of Godzilla for photographic proof of his existence, but nothing was getting me back out of the house to voluntarily go near that lizard. But he looked something like this...

Yup, spitting image. So now I have a fear of my own backyard because I know Godzilla is lurking out there just waiting to pounce on me.
